Balfour Farm at the Maine Cheese Festival

We are going off the farm and hitting the road to attend the Maine Cheese Festival!

The Maine Cheese Festival will be held in Manson Park in Pittsfield, just down the road from the farm. Please join us and many other Maine cheesemakers, food and drink producers as we celebrate and support the Maine cheesemaking community at a beautiful riverside park.

As a fund raiser for the Maine Cheese Guild, this is a ticketed event. There are two ticket sessions, 11am-2pm and 3pm-6pm. Full details and ticket information can be found on the Maine Cheese Festival Website

5:30 p.m. farm tour; 6 p.m. discussion

Please join us in a discussion of how to effectively use homeopathy with livestock. We will use this opportunity to improve our diagnostic and repetorizing skills. Feel free to bring any case information that you're questioning, and we'll look up rubrics. We can work through your case together and, maybe, find the right remedy! Please bring any repertory or material medicas you have to use for research. Discussion to be led by Jacki Perkins, Diane Schivera and Henrietta Beaufait.

Community Pot Luck and Meet & Greet with Pitsfield Artisans Rhonda and Donald Belgard

Come and go, visit with friends and neighbors. Bring a dish to share- we will provide coffee and tea, weather permitting we will fire up the fire pit and homemade marshmallows will be available for roasting.

Rhonda and Donald will be demonstrating 'twining'- an old fashioned weaving technique that uses recycled materials to create one of a kind, functional pieces of art.

Hunter's Special: Sunrise Omelette with Shotgun Homefries: 3 egg omelette with seasonal veggies and cheese, choice of bread, and homefries with peppers, onions, diced bacon and cheese

Local Egg Sandwich on homemade English muffin w/ cheese- add meat

Open Creamery Day

Join us and appreciate all things cheesy in Maine! We will give farm & creamery tours at 11 am, 1 pm and 3 pm.  This is a walking tour of the farmstead and will take about an hour.  Look for signs when you arrive for parking areas.

The Farm House will be open with a limited menu, 8 am to 3 pm and the farm store will be open until 4:30 pm  

We will have cheese themed menu items for breakfast and lunch.  Some items will be available 'to go' if you are pressed for time.
